Local businessman and State House District 37 candidate Steven Long has been named as a leader of Ted Cruz’s Pro-Life Coalition in South Carolina. The coalition of over 19,000 members who are also supporting U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, is led nationally by Tony Perkins, Gianna Jessen, and Rebecca Hagelin, among others. In South Carolina, the coalition is led by Steven Long, Senator Lee Bright, Pastor Mike Gonzalez, Rebecca Ewing, and Representatives Wendy Nanney and Garry Smith.
“I am honored to have these leaders in the pro-life movement join our cause. This is one of the most important issues of our time as we have lost more than 55 million lives to abortion,” Sen. Cruz said in a press release. “As we push forward in this election cycle, let us not forget what is most important – our God-given right to life. Thank you to the men and women on this leadership team who are on the front lines of the battle to protect the sanctity of life in the Palmetto State.”
“I’m proud to lead this coalition with Mr. Perkins and others,” Long said. “The cause of ending abortion in America is fundamental and we need a President who is unapologetically pro-life. If we can’t get the issue of life right, there is no way that we can get anything else right. I look forward to Sen. Cruz fighting for the unborn as our next President and I look forward to fighting for the unborn as a state representative. I urge other pro-lifers to join this coalition with me at www.prolifeforcruz.org”
